Airline song
Delta Airlines started a low budget airline service that was called "Airline Song. " This project was started with only a few flights though Delta hoped to increase its service quickly. "Airline Song" was not the first reduced fare venture started by Delta Airlines, the first one called Delta Express proved unsuccessful. The purpose of this low-budget airline was to compete with Jet blue Airways, a successful and economical airline which has been in existence since the year 2000.
The emphasis for this airline was put on making the flights comfortable and attractive. The airlines colors were green and white and the planes offered ample seating space and entertainment centers for each passenger. "Airline Song" ticket prices started at as low as $79 round-trip. People were given the opportunity to choose their own food and movies in advance and "Airline Song" allowed the traveler to select when during the flight the traveler wanted to watch his selected movie. The video equipment had touch screen technology, offered satellite television, games and internet connections.
"Airline Song" was trying to make their service unique, to make their customer feel relaxed and comfortable. They tried to consider their consumer feedback, in an attempt to keep their travelers happy. Unfortunately, this airline did not prove lucrative and Delta Airlines decided to combine this low cost subsidiary into their regular service. "Airline Song" as a separate entity no longer exists. Some people were rather upset when this reduced air fare option was removed, though most of them recognized that the program was impractical.
